Senior police officer killed in nine-vehicle crash on Nairobi–Nakuru Highway

 

 

A senior police officer was killed on Monday evening in a multiple car accident involving nine vehicles at

Karay area along the Nairobi Nakuru highway in Iasha. senior superintendent and the county criminal investigations

Oficer for Yandaroa John Rioba was driving one of the vehicles died when the crash occurred at about 4:50 p.m.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when a driver the wheel of a lorry traveling from Nairobi towards Nakuru

Reportedly lost control and rammed a vehicle that was heading in the same direction. The impact caused the vehicle

That had been hit to veer off its lane and collide with seven other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.

Nine vehicles were involved, including lorries, Matus, private cars, and the police officer's vehicle. Rioba

Sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Nvasha County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have launched a manhunt for the driver of the lorry who fled the scene immediately after the crash.
